A list of useful and essential things to bring for your recovery from SRS

ItemReasonLink/info
Puppy training padsDilating is messy to begin with, this saves you doing laundry.Link
Extra bath towelWill stop you staining your sheets and mattress when sleeping.
Paper towels1^1Cleaning up after dilating. These are the best I’ve found, ideally you want absorbency without them falling apart
Dish soap or Toy cleanerCleaning dilators. You don’t want to damage your dilators with other soaps, or get stuff into your very delicate area that might cause issues. Ideally this will be unscented/hypoallergenic Toy Cleaner.
Baby bath or a large bucketFor salt baths, no point in running a whole bath, that would be a large amount of salt.Something like this, big enough for your specific body size. You can find baby baths at baby supply stores or a variety of containers at bunnings if they are too small.
Epsom salt (Magnesium Sulfate)For your salt bath, regular salt is more expensive for the amount you use.
OTC painkillersYou are going to be in pain for a long time.Remember to take these with food, they can cause damage to your stomach
Flat inflatable cushionSitting is going to be painful for quite a while.ROHO mosaic cushion was good, although it is expensive (I borrowed one from an acquaintance). There are cheaper options which I imagine are very similar.
LubeYou need this for dilating everyday for ages, I have used litres. This is the one I have used for the majority of my experience. *Also see my section on Lube.
Hand mirrorA phone is not good enough for this in my experience, if you want to know what’s going on down there properly this is a necessity.
Menstrual padsYou will have a lot of discharge. You can get pads that are basically nappies, maternity pads, or thin sport ones that are barely there. I bought a variety.
Wet wipesBed bath / wiping. For a bed bath in the hospital, it feels nice after not being able to shower for days. Also, wiping your butt is now your enemy, these will make the experience less painful (Reminder: wipes are not flushable).
DilatorsKieran does not provide substantial ones for long term.See my section on dilators.
Ear plugsThe leg compression machine you have to wear for several days/nights is very loud.

Stuff i haven’t tried myself but would bring if i did it againReasonLink/info
Wash bottleSo you don’t have to use TP on your delicate vulva.Link. I guess ideally this would have pre boiled water (cold) for sanitary reasons, but I suppose you’re having showers anyway so I’m unsure.
Something to help you sit on the toiletToilet seats are designed to cause you maximum pain.I remember using my hands on the seat so I wouldn’t have to put stress on the surgical area. I’m not sure what this would require.
A SheWee type deviceSitting down on the toilet was my worst enemy, it was very painful.Link.
Premade easy foodI felt like I had the life drained out of me, anything to make life easier.
Lots of things to do from bedit is so boring sososo boring
Maybe something to help your walkCane, walker, something to that extent if you are not very coordinated. I did fine without it but I have a good sense of balance.

1^1 I know this isn’t the most sustainable option, but I haven’t been able to come up with a better option. Especially in during early dilation when the discharge is borderline biohazardous.
